Diego H. Rodriguez Carrion (Diego Hiromi) is a painter who was born on July 26, 1995 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Diego studied at the Atelier San Juan under the guidance of the artists Luis Borrero and Amber Lia-Kloppel, learning “Old Master” techniques in drawing and painting. In 2017, Diego earned his Barchelor's Degree in Fine Art with a painting major at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA). While, at PAFA, he has won awards and prizes, such as The William Emlen Cresson Memorial Travel Scholarship, The Woodmere Art Museum Purchase Prize, The Pennsylvania Governor's Award, The Don Sabath Award; The Sylvia G. Wexler Memorial Award; The Samuel David Memorial Prize for Cast Drawing; The Rose and Nathan Rubinson Prize in Memory of Wharton Esherick and the Frances D. Bergman Memorial Prize. Also, Diego has participated in group exhibitions at PAFA, The Woodmere Art Museum and at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
